Some rewards are too large to connect sensibly to one small job. Reward coins allow several completed chores to build towards the goal over time instead.
Parents choose the coin value, check the finished chore and approve the progress. That means the balance reflects work the parent has actually reviewed rather than every task a child marks complete.
Parents can also leave ordinary responsibilities without a coin value at all. That keeps the system flexible: selected chores can build towards a family reward while other jobs remain normal parts of everyday family life.
