Know when the journey away from Home begins
That can be useful for a school run, a walk to a familiar place or a planned pickup without requiring somebody to watch the Family Map from the moment the child leaves.
Leaving Home only describes the phone crossing the configured boundary. It does not confirm where the child is going next, and GPS, signal, permissions or battery restrictions can affect alert timing.
Later School or Home alerts can provide the next familiar milestone. If something does not look right, parents can check the latest available map and device context or contact the child directly.
Quick questions
What does a Guardian Home departure alert mean?
It means the connected child phone has moved outside the configured Home safe zone; it does not identify the child’s final destination.
Can a Home leaving alert arrive later than expected?
Yes. GPS conditions, signal, permissions, battery optimisation and other phone restrictions can affect the timing of background location updates.
Should a Home departure alert be relied on in an emergency?
No. Guardian is not an emergency service. If someone may be in immediate danger, contact the emergency services directly.
