A Home arrival update at the end of the journey
For an ordinary journey from School or another familiar place, that can replace the need for another routine 'I'm home' message while still leaving the Family Map available if something looks different from normal.
The alert depends on location information reported by the phone. GPS variation, weak signal, permissions, background access and battery-saving behaviour can affect both the location and the timing of the Home arrival event.
An arrival alert does not prove that a person is inside the house or guarantee that every notification will be delivered. If there is a genuine safety concern, parents should contact the child directly; Guardian is not an emergency service.
Quick questions
What does a Guardian Home arrival alert mean?
It means the connected child phone has appeared to enter the configured Home safe zone based on the location information available to Guardian.
Why might a Home arrival notification appear later than expected?
GPS conditions, signal, permissions, background restrictions and battery behaviour can delay when the phone reports the boundary crossing.
What should a parent do if the Home alert is missing and they are concerned?
Use direct family contact rather than relying only on the app. Guardian provides location and alert context but is not an emergency service.
