A configured boundary can provide an arrival or leaving notification from the connected child phone, giving parents a useful milestone without requiring them to follow the whole journey on the Family Map.
The alert depends on the location readings the phone is able to provide. Buildings, weak signal, permissions, background restrictions and battery settings can all change when the place event is reported.
Place alerts are therefore useful family context rather than perfectly immediate or guaranteed events. Location information stays inside the private Guardian family, and Guardian is not an emergency service.
