Instead of asking parents to watch every part of a journey, the place alert can provide the milestone while the private Family Map, battery status and latest available location remain there when extra context is needed.
The connected phone still determines what location information is available. GPS variation, connectivity, permissions and battery restrictions can delay or change the reported position.
Used openly, these place-based updates can reduce repeated check-in messages while leaving room for trust and independence. They do not guarantee safety or exact positioning, and Guardian is not an emergency service.
